Ultra Sound
I love that word, just the way it SOUNDS. I think it's the ULTRA part. Ultra-white, ultra-bright, ultra-man, I like ultra in front of anything.
I had a two-hour ultrasound yesterday which is not good. The radiologist started taking pictures, then she left to get another radiologist to help. They poked and prodded on me for at least forty-five minutes taking more pictures. Whisper, whiSper, wHisper, ovaries, whisPer, whispeR, something else, whisPEr, now you've got it, whisssper.
I couldn't hear a thing and pretended like I wasn't trying. Then they left, and I waited another forty-five minutes for my doctor to get out of surgery to read the ultrasound. I've never played any of the games on my cell phone before, but I got pretty good at Triple Pop.
Finally a delicate obscure conversation with the nurse, but with a few keywords like "storm brewing ahead," I got the message that it might not be a good idea to travel. So do I stay or go to NC? The guys are packing up all the tools right now, and maybe I should give up my seat. They probably need to put more tools in the truck anyway.
On a happier note, I went to First Friday Art Walks, and it was also the opening of the student show that Russ and I juried Thursday. It was fun to jury, but also hard because it was all media -- photography, sculpture, painting, drawing, digital design, ceramics -- and beginning students to seniors. There was no set number because Todd said he could hang it tight or open.
At when I arrived at the show, I worried that maybe we should have included more work because there was definitely room. But everyone I talked to including some of the students seemed very pleased with how the show turned out and kept thanking us. I was embarressed because it really had nothing to do with me, it was the students who did all the work.
I told a couple of the instuctors a few reasons why we chose some work and not others, in case their students were curious. All in all, the show looked great. And I did get the names and titles to go with the photos I posted on Thursday, so I'm going back to add those now.

Oh my gosh. Two hours. That's just torturous. Anyway, you're in my thoughts. You seem calm. I hope whatever you do this weekend, it has wonderful moments of creative energy!
Pam,
It sounds like you will accept whatever news the news is. I can't imagine that this is really the case, though.
I hope you get an answer soon. But it sounds like you probably shouldn't be going to NC.
We're all hoping for the best for you. Hang in there and take it easy.
Ditto for all the other comments, Pam. All you can ever do is what you think is best. Stay positive!
Yikes. My US was only 15 minutes, and I had the doctor right there, with my own two eyes glued to the monitor along with theirs. But hey - at least they were looking at something, rather than nothing (that would have been a much shorter procedure!)
TONS of luck, and thinking of you... To repeat your advice to me: 'Hang in there!'
