Lots of kids, big and small, showed up for the ribbon-cutting ceremony of Kinetic Man. There were free ice-cream sandwiches for everyone...

and everyone got a turn to make K-Man move. I think the little kids like the fact that it's just a little bit hard for them to turn the handle because it makes them really feel like they've accomplished something.

Oh, that last picture freaked me out a bit. All those big gears on the left of the picture look so tempting to touch and I was worried about pinched fingers. But, when I checked out the photos on your other blog, I could clearly see that the gear box is enclosed. What a relief. (I can't imagine why I doubted this in the first place.) Kinetic Man is incredible. Some day when we're passing through the mid west -- it's inevitable -- we'll be sure to stop! Can you save some ice cream sandwiches for us?
Yes, there's a super strong plastic called Lexan all the way around the gear box, so everyone can see but no one can touch.
No, I don't think there will be any ice cream sandwiches left. :)
I LOVE K-Man! He seems like so much fun! Will he ever come to D.C.?
