Viking Dilemma
Put a fork in me, I'm done. Done meaning finished, done also meaning fried, yes I'm so toasted... This has been one killer work week, and there's still one more tough day to go.
On top of everything else I had going on this week, I've been operating under the illusion that I could finish my Robbery quilt in time to enter it in the Husqvarna Viking competition. I guess I'm like one of those pit bulls whose jaw locks up when I sink my teeth into something. But somewhere I mis-read the theme as "Art Takes Form" instead of "Art Takes Shape" so the big burglar's name is Art and he's taking a Dress Form out of the Lingerie Boutique, and I became obsessed with this idea.
Somehow today between five runs to the K-Man installation site, I finished the quilt (good enough for slides, ah hem), got my crooked slides developed at the one-hour slide place, and sent the application in.
Thank goodness I've developed the One Hour and Five Minutes art quilt binding technique, including time for cutting, piecing and one bobbin change. I was seriously trying to get my time below one hour, but failed again. I've never entered a Quilt Show, only Art Quilt Shows so I may find that those Vikings don't appreciate my binding technique. They also might not appreciate my art quilting techniques, examples of which I will try to post later since Sonji said the magic word.
The good news is I'm done. For me, the real accomplishment is entering. The rest is up to someone else. The bad news is, those Vikings have this nasty rule that the quilts can't be published even on a web site before November.

Oh, oh! Is Mrs. Mel in trouble? We have all seen those matchstick moons which she is entering?
I love that photo of the K-Man. Wow - you two are so talented - what a dynamic duo!
