Updated My Website

I've finally updated my website, putting five new quilts on - well, actually four that I just finished these last two weeks, and the one from the Viking exhibition that according to the exhibition rules I couldn't post until November.

This little one with two kokeshi dolls, I started last summer but couldn't bring myself to quilt it with the brown border I originally chose.

It was a kind of neat vintage kimono material, but I guess I'm just not a brown person. I know there are many lovely browns out there, but just couldn't get it finished until I changed to the orange stripey border.

How interesting the difference the border makes! The orange border is spectacular, but I'm glad you posted both options because it is fascinating to see how different the colors appear depending on the border!

Wow, the change of border color/fabric sure does make a big difference. I love the contrast of the brown fabric, but it doesn't capture the happy fun attitude of the dolls. The orange fabric was the choice I'd have made too. I really love how animated your work is.

Thanks Sonji and Jen. I was hoping when I posted both versions that no one would say, Oh I liked the brown better!

After I finished it, I realized I couldn't have made that choice last summer because I bought the orange stripe in September. So I guess sometimes it's better to wait.

I think the orange border compliments the quilt much nicer too. It's amazing what a difference the two make to the quilt.

Weird how the orange makes it look more Asian than the IKat...who would have thought? Love the new quilts on the website....always eager to see what you will do next.

The orange IS wonderful and so much more lively and happy than the brown. Jen (late to the comment party again)

The orange is super! You're right - sometimes it's better to wait and let the piece tell you what it wants.
