Life Imitates Art

Notice my early preference for turtlenecks, and the mole on my forehead that I later had removed. Also the fact I was always a late bloomer. I lost my front teeth long after everyone else had grown their permanent ones.

Since high school, I've worn contacts. But I'll always think of myself as the girl with cat-eye glasses, so when I needed a new glasses, I decided to return to my roots.
I found these wonderful Lulu Guinness glasses with rhinestones in the corners. I love them, and now they can make lenses so thin, that I might actually wear them in public. Actually, I think they look pretty good on me, but Madelaine is more glamorous than me, so I asked her to model.

Wow, you look so arty in the last shot with the sunglasses.
Note to self: take a pic in dark glasses and look like a very big time artiste!
Oooh, I love your new frames and the shades are nice too.
Fabulous glasses, you are going to be much more glamorous than Madeline. Must go to optometrist and check new glasses immediately.
What a cute kid!!!
Love tha glasses and your haircut. I didn't have to wear glasses until I was an old lady and now they are such a part of my personna.
I sure don't remember the mole that plagued you! but the cat eye glasses...well I have photos of your mother and my mother and let's just say that you came by it honestly! love you! also, for the record...you are way prettier than Madeline, even with that clear complexion, she's a bit pasty, don't you think! :)
I have a pair of Dior cat eye sunglasses that are pearly gold with brown tinted lenses. Love them!!!
My daughter a year or so back gave me a pair of sunnies in that shape with rims decorated with zebra print flock... she's got marvellous taste, just like you. This goregous 50's style was taken to great heights by my late mother: at huge expense my optometrist father imported from europe for her a rhinstone decorated frame, generous sized stones all across the top and along the full length of each sidepiece which curved upwards, not down behind the ear. There was one other frame like it in Australia at the time. Talk about pure Dame Edna Everage. My parents frequently socaialised at black tie events, and for many years these specs were worn elegantly - with the french roll or one of the other upswept styles her hairdrsser understood were necessary to show off the eyewear. By the time we sorted out her house, though, they had gone, somewhere...if I EVER see an antique pair anything like it I will buy them for my daughter, although I am not sure about the combination with tattoos....sigh.
Oh my, when I saw the first picture you posted at the top of yourself with long hair I thought it was me. Somewhere I have a picture so similar it is uncanny. I will have to dig it up and show it to you!
